Dr. Frank Fogarty
MICGP, MRCGP, MMedSc, DipMSK Medicine, FFSEM(Ire) , FWSSEM(Malaysia).
Dr Frank Fogarty is an Inishowen based practicing GP/GP Trainer-Educator of 30 yrs+ experience with a passionate special interest in sports and exercise medicine with particular reference to it's application in primary care.
He studies and promotes best practices for general fitness, injury prevention and injury rehabilitation. He focuses on active living and healthy ageing aiming to keep people as active as possible for as long as possible.
He specialises in the diagnostic assessment, appropriate investigation and evidence based treatment of sports and exercise injuries.
His work spans the activity spectrum from elite athletes to casual elderly walkers.
He has presented at National and International Conferences on various topics including Concussion, Drugs in Sport, Knee, Shoulder, Ankle and Back Injuries, Exercise Prescription, Obesity, Cardiac Rehabilitation and currently Spinal Rehabilitation in the community.
Dr Fogarty has been involved over the years as both Team Doctor and Consultant to various Inter-County GAA (Offaly, Donegal) and Irish Premier league soccer teams (Finn Harps F.C., Derry City F.C.).
He is currently the Chairman of the No Barriers Foundation which specialises in Neuro-Rehabilitation in the community and is also the Team Doctor with the Donegal Hurlers.
